NESEA Annual Meeting in NYC September 24th

Please join GreenHomeNYC and Projjal Dutta, Director of Sustainability for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, for the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) Annual Meeting on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the CUNY Institute for Sustainable Cities (ISC) at Hunter College from 5pm to 9pm. GreenHomeNYC is the local chapter of NESEA, and is helping to bring this chance to meet up with other NESEA members to New York City. The Annual Meeting is a great opportunity to engage with others who are just as passionate about renewable energy and sustainability in the built environment as you are. If you are not a NESEA member, we invite you to come learn more about sustainability and whole-systems thinking! This event will be a great way to meet and exchange ideas with leaders in the field of sustainability in the built environment, as well as those who are transitioning into the field with the help of NESEA and GreenHomeNYC. Click through for event details after the jump! The meeting features networking and hors d’oeuvres, updates from GreenHomeNYC and NESEA’s Executive Director and Board Chair, a talk by CUNY Institute for Sustainable Cities (ISC) on the City Atlas project, and a keynote address by Mr. Projjal Dutta, Director of Sustainability for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Projjal will be presenting, “Taking the Car out of Carbon.” Through his extensive professional background and his present work with the MTA, Projjal has witnessed great improvements in the energy performance of buildings, a figure which ignores the often enormous amount of energy required to transport people and goods to and from buildings. He will address the energy impacts of transportation and how they can be improved. Conversations will continue beyond the event at an informal after-party. We hope to see you there! Anyone can attend the Annual Meeting, so long as they register; registration is required to gain admittance through Hunter College Security. You can RSVP through Facebook or by clicking here. This event is filling up fast, so don’t delay!
