New Lighting Regulations: Current NYC lighting laws and codes
Instructor: Paul Reale, Environmental Consultant
The world of lighting design is changing rapidly. Alongside continual technological advancements, the codes and laws that govern the design and construction of lighting systems are being progressively improved. New laws, stricter codes, and new DoB filing requirements now effect most all NYC spaces.
Green Light New York has developed a concise and vital three-part series of presentations on how to meet and exceed these new lighting requirements. Offered in 90 min segments, the presentations cover 1) the laws and regulations themselves, 2) strategies for applying the new requirements to lighting retrofit projects, and 3) demystifying lighting controls. The courses have been developed with the assistance of an extremely knowledgable advisory group and have been very well received in previous deliveries.
Each course provides 1.5 AIA HSW/SD learning units. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
New Lighting Regulations is offered the morning of May 22nd. Lighting Retrofits and Lighting Controls the morning of May 23rd.
The instructor of New Lighting Regulations will cover the following:
– Overview of Greener Greater Building Plan Lighting Upgrade law
– Overview of the NYC Energy Code lighting requirements
– Laws, code, and compliance;
– Strategies to meet or exceed code;
– Sources of funding, rebates & incentives
The courses in the series are independent; attend one or all, in any order. Previous deliveries of these courses sold out quickly and were very well reviewed.
Green Light New York would like to thank iGuzzini for hosting this event.
