July Forum: Greening the Building Code

The Green Building Forum is held on the third Wednesday of each month (except December) at 6:30 PM and features presentations by green building practitioners followed by discussion. The events are always free and open to the general public. This month, the Forum will be checking in to see how building codes are becoming more green. The July session of the monthly Green Building Forum will focus on Green Building Codes. What does it mean to “green” building codes? Come find out and join us at Hafele’s beautiful showroom off of Madison Square Park. The forum will highlight not only the importance of present green building codes, but also their background and how they have directly impacted the present building industry. It is crucial to understand how these codes were developed, are implemented and ultimately enforced. Speakers invited will be from various disciplines in the industry, providing a comprehensive view for all to learn about the past, present and future of “greening” our building codes. AIA credit GreenHomeNYC is registered for learning credit with AIA/CES. For the July 2009 forum, we are providing 1.5 credits that qualify for HSW (Health, Safety and Welfare) and SD (Sustainable Design). Credit is only given if you purchase beforehand here.
