NY’s Great Appliance Swap Out — this February save $550!

NYSERDA, by way of stimulus funds, is offering rebates on ENERGY STAR appliances during the week of February 12 – 21, until the funds run out. There are 2 different rebates on offer.

1. Rebate Option 1: Single Appliance. Get $75-105 dollars for buying a freezer, clothes washer or refrigerator if you also recycle your old one. If you don’t recycle the old one, you get $50-75.
2. Rebate Option 2: Buy 3 ENERGY STAR appliances, such as a refrigerator, clothes washer and dishwasher. Get up to $555 in a cash rebate. If you don’t recycle, then the rebate drops to $500.

The recycling options seem to be either having an appliance company pick up the old equipment and provide you with an invoice, or getting a confirmation number from 311 that you scheduled a pick up for the equipment by the Department of Sanitation.
