October 9th Green Building Tour – Newark New Jersey

On Saturday October 9nd, GreenHomeNYC presents a follow up to our September forum: The Greening of Newark, NJ. Join us for a Green Building Open House tour of St. Philip’s Academy and Roseville Commons in Newark. Participants get an opportunity to learn about energy efficient and sustainable building methods directly from building professionals responsible for the projects. You will experience firsthand the inner workings, building systems and design details, as well the challenges and accomplishments that were faced by the professionals involved with these commercial and residential buildings. Tour Schedule. 10:00 meet at St. Philip’s Tour of St. Philip’s from 10:15 – 11:15 Travel to Roseville Commons 11:15 – 11:30 Tour of Roseville 11:30-12:30 Alternate lunch in the Ironbound at 1pm for those who want to stick around Directions. St. Philips Academy 342 Central Avenue Newark, NJ 07103 From New York City by public transportation: Take the Path train from the World Trade Center location to the last stop – Penn Station, Newark, NJ. From Penn Station Newark, NJ take the #24 or #44 bus up to 342 Central Avenue to St. Phillips Academy. The cross street is Norfolk. or Take the light rail from Newark Penn Station and get off at Norfolk Street and walk three blocks to Central Avenue. Turn left onto Central and walk to #342. North or South via Garden State Parkway: Take Exit 145 to Route 280 East. Follow directions below for Route 280 East. North or South via New Jersey Turnpike: Take exit 15W to Route 280 West. Follow directions below for Route 280 West. Route 280 East: Take the First Street exit (left exit) – Exit 13. At the light, make a right onto First Street. Go straight through the first traffic light and at the second traffic light make a left onto Central Avenue. Continue to 342 Central Avenue. The school will be on your right. Route 280 West: Take Exit 14A (Clinton Ave.). Proceed to the traffic light and turn left onto Norfolk Street. Continue 3 blocks to Central Ave. and turn right. The school will be on the left 2 blocks down. Route 78 East: Take exit for Garden State Parkway North and follow the directions above.
