The energy transition is in full swing! With tailwinds in policy, financing, availability, public sentiment and more over the past several years, including a major boost from the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, the renewable energy and energy storage industries are making big things happen across the country including in and around New York City.
At this month’s Forum, we’ll hear from several local professionals from across the renewables and storage sectors on how they are helping move the transition forward.

Details about the presenters:
Hunter Prange is a Project Manager at NineDot Energy, with experience in the energy storage space, and a focus on engineering, procurement, and construction. Prior to joining NineDot, Hunter spent over a year at Lodestar Energy building community solar projects in Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts. His experience at Lodestar built the base of renewable energy knowledge he has today to be able to build storage projects. Prior to that, Hunter spent two years in the Construction Solutions practice at FTI Consulting, helping clients resolve disputes and building foundational construction knowledge.
At NineDot, Hunter manages the construction of projects after the development work has been completed. This consists of managing contractors, construction, commissioning, closeouts, and setting the project up for long-term operation.
Hunter received his BSE in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University. He lives in Manhattan.
Krystal Persaud is obsessed with developing products that fall in the intersection of education, technology, and society. Anything else is not worth designing. She is the founder of Grouphug, a company that designs and sells her patented Window Solar Charger. She uses design to showcase solar in new, exciting ways from designing a giant cat-shaped solar panel that meows to even a turtle shaped solar panel. Her designs have been featured on the Today Show, CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, and even ABC’s Shark Tank where she won an investment from Mark Cuban. She’s an adjunct instructor of interaction design at NJIT, SVA, and Parsons. She graduated from Georgia Tech with a B.S. in Industrial Design. She most recently launched a new venture called Wildgrid, a planning tool that helps people “electrify” their homes one easy step at a time.
Armand Dehaney is a Vice President of Investments, where he works closely with developers and other stakeholders to originate, structure, and execute quality sustainable infrastructure investments.
Prior to joining Greenbacker, Armand was Director, Capital Markets at Brookfield Renewables. In his role, he led corporate and project finance transactions including $2B of tax equity and debt financings. While at Brookfield, Armand led the first DG solar securitization (ABS).
Armand began his career within the Utilities, Power and Renewable Energy Group at KeyBanc Capital Markets.
He is passionate about the intersection of real assets and climate change.
Mandy Yang works on Greenbacker’s renewable energy and real estate investments team. She leads efforts on all parts of the transaction lifecycle including acquisitions and financing, as well as corporate deliverables and business strategy. She led the acquisition of over 150MW of solar assets across the Northeast and Midwest and financed over 400MW of solar and wind assets through construction debt, long-term debt, and tax equity financings. Prior to Greenbacker, Mandy worked across several infrastructure-focused funds at Allianz, including Allianz’s U.S. Private Placements, Infrastructure Private Equity, and Infrastructure Debt teams. Mandy graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and minor in Cognitive Science.
